One of the ideas for the 90th anniversary of the sisterhood was to publish a new cookbook. Our parishioners’ recipes have been compiled into a book more than once, but much has changed since the previous editions in 1981, 1992 and 2009. Book printing has become easier and better quality, and most importantly, new women have joined our parish. They continue the traditions of hospitality in our church, bringing delicious dishes for our Sunday lunches, holiday feasts and picnics. These recipes are definitely worth publishing, as well as authentic recipes that have been delighting our parishioners and guests for decades.
Today, during our traditional coffee hour, we started discussing exactly what our new cookbook would look like. Thanks to the enthusiasm and professionalism of Tania Masiuk, who prepared the materials for discussion, we were able to talk about the idea and format of the book, the number of recipes and selection criteria, as well as the cost and timeline of the project. Many thanks to everyone who joined our table and took part in the discussion!
Our first task is to create a committee. The book will be published in English. We are looking for people who would like to help with recipe selection, proofreading, design discussion, etc. With your help, we hope to publish our new cookbook by October, so that not only our parishioners, but also the guests of our annual festival can enjoy the new book. Please contact me if you can help publish the book. Thank you!
